Do I need to get a referral for physiotherapy treatment from my family physician before booking an appointment?

It is not necessary to get a referral from your physician, as primary care providers, your physiotherapist is able to assess and treat you for your condition without requiring a referral. Please note that if you have extended health care, your insurance company may require a physician referral in order to cover you for the cost of your assessment and/or treatments. If you have coverage, it is best to contact your insurance company to ensure you are aware of what may be required.

 

My doctor gave me a referral to another physiotherapy clinic, however I would like to come to Kinetic Physiotherapy instead, can I choose what clinic I would like to go to?

Even though your physician may have suggested that you attend a specific clinic, you are indeed able to choose the clinic that you would like to attend.

 

How should I dress for my physiotherapy assessment and treatment sessions?

It is best if you wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing so that you are able to expose the area that we will be assessing and treating. For example: if you have a concern about your knee it is best to wear shorts.

  

Do we treat individuals who are looking to receive care under WSIB or MVA claims?

We currently treat individuals looking to receive care under MVA claims, however we do not treat individuals looking to receive care under WSIB.

 

How often should I attend treatment sessions?

During your assessment both you and your physiotherapist will determine the appropriate frequency for your sessions to ensure that you meet your goals of therapy. 

 

Will my physiotherapist be registered?

Yes, Kinetic Physiotherapy has 3 registered physiotherapists, each registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

  

Will my physiotherapy sessions be covered by OHIP?

Sessions at Kinetic Physiotherapy are not covered by OHIP, we are not a designated OHIP clinic. In order to receive physiotherapy that is covered by OHIP, you must attend a designated OHIP physiotherapy clinic.

  

Does Kinetic Physiotherapy direct bill my insurance company?

We do not direct bill for your sessions, and we require payment at each sessions. Once you pay for your sessions, we will provide you with an invoice that you may submit to your insurance company.
